When Ann first came up to Arthur I had the clever thought "What if she was Dinclusin's sister?!?" and then it turns out she is, and I was happy. It'd be interesting if you could play around with some of her ideas- she could be the female eagle killing her brother- maybe she could be a possible ally for Arthur. I kind of want to see her dropping subtle hints as to what her brother's plotting.
It actually makes a lot of sense here to switch up the who-gets-hurt scenario; Dinclusin is clearly more interested in Eames. An image: Eames, slumped in a chair with his hands tied behind his back (possibly splattered with blood?), a burlap cloth over his head. (Probably would make more sense in a later chapter, or maybe in one of Arthur's dreams.) A line Eames says to Arthur: "You know that's not what I think of you."
(Also, I really like where this is going, sort of preternaturally mysterious but with an explanation. MINDFUCKERY IS GOOD!)
