Yeah, i'm not surprised to hear that you have a background like that--because it's hard to explain that mix of obscene and heartbreaking, much less to write it if you haven't been there. It's hard to explain (or show!) why it's so. damn. important to be able to make a terrible/sick/bawdy joke, so that you can get through those moments when you're cleaning up the body of a six year old girl. But you were pitch perfect, there.
