It doesn't sound weird to me because I also used to feel the same way. When I'd be covered in blood of fluids or someone crying on me, part of me would feel--exactly as you said--privileged. Like, you're doing the dirty work, because you can, so therefore you must. That kind of thing. Hard to explain! But I understand somewhat. And by the way, being a nurse, just going to school for it,I know that's so not easy. I have oodles of respect for you. :D
